DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The City Clerk's Office prepares and publishes the City Council/Redevelopment Agency agendas and packets of supporting information. The City Clerk's Office ensures that the City Council/Agency meetings are conducted in accordance with the Brown Act and is responsible for publication or posting of all legal notices related to public hearings or other actions of the City Council. The Clerk is entrusted with the responsibility of recording actions taken by the legislative body.
The City Clerk oversees the preservation and protection of the public records. The City Clerk is required to maintain and index the Minutes, Ordinances and Resolutions adopted by the legislative body. The City Clerk also ensures that other municipal records are readily accessible to the public and responds to requests for public records.
The City Clerk serves as the Election Official for the City. The City Clerk conducts all municipal elections, and assists candidates in meeting their legal responsibilities before, during and after an election. The City Clerk also services as the filing officer for campaign statements for elected officials and conflict of interest statements for elected officials, a variety of City advisory bodies, numerous City employees and certain consultants. |
